The Halifax County Sheriff's has arrested a woman for a May 24 breaking and entering at a residence on Morgan Drive.

Major Scott Hall said in a statement that on May 24 around 11 p.m., a homeowner returned from an out of town trip to find that their residence had been broken into.

Deputy Emerson Carroll was contacted and began an investigation.

Deputy Carroll identified a suspect and later arrested Joanna Stanley, 28 of Roanoke Rapids and charged her with felony breaking and entering. She was jailed on $20,000 bond.

 

Hall said Stanley allegedly stole jewelry and electronics, including a laptop, which was recovered. She was familiar with the victim, he said.
