A lane control violation Monday led to the arrest of a Weldon man for cocaine and marijuana violations.
Major Scott Hall of the Halifax County Sheriff's Office said shortly before 1:45 a.m., Deputy Graham Page stopped a vehicle near the intersection of Highway 301 and Washington Avenue in Weldon for the purported violation.

Page identified the driver as Adriane Deamaine Pender, 34, and reportedly noticed a plastic bag containing marijuana in the center console armrest of the vehicle. A search also led to the discovery of a bag of crack cocaine in the ashtray and two prescription pill bottles which were not labeled.
Pender was charged with possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana, possessing a prescription without a label, driving without a license and fail to maintain lane of travel.
He received a $2,000 bond and April 23 court date.
