Investigation by the Halifax County Sheriff's Office is revealing that Amy Wells Bridgeman may have left the Weldon area with a long truck driver.
This information comes through a Violent Criminal Apprehension Program alert released by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Halifax County Wes Tripp declined to elaborate on the new information released by the FBI, but confirmed it was through his agency's investigation that this is a possibility.
He declined to comment on if there was anything in Bridgeman's past that drove her to an area in Weldon where drug use and prostitution is common.
“She is missing and there has been no contact with her family,” Tripp said. “We're working to try to locate and find her and help the family. We have no leads at this point to indicate foul play.”
According to the FBI alert, Bridgeman left her home in Weldon on June 24 of last year, wearing a white shirt with four black stripes and white capri pants.
A PDF of the alert, which is included at the bottom of this story, gives a complete run down of her height, weight and tattoos.
