The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Roanoke Rapids woman Sunday following an investigation of breaking and entering and larceny from a Three Bridges Road residence.

Major Scott Hall said in a statement Deputy Brian Biggerstaff began investigating a breaking and entering on Saturday after the homeowner returned around 8:30 a.m. and found several items missing from the yard and from an outside storage building.

The items included vehicle batteries, vehicle tires and scrap metal.

 

Continued investigation led to the arrest of Melody Mallory, 30, of Roanoke Rapids, and the recovery of two batteries.

Mallory was arrested and charged with two counts of breaking and entering of a motor vehicle, larceny, possession of stolen goods, breaking and entering and larceny after breaking and entering.

 

She received a $6,000 bond and has a February 12 court date pending.
