A Woodland man was arrested last week for allegedly kicking his pregnant girlfriend in the stomach, according to the Northampton County Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff Jack Smith said investigator Altessie Taylor responded to Arrowhead Mobile Home Park on January 18 on an assault call.

Taylor spoke with the 24-year-old victim and learned her boyfriend, 23-year-old Mainor Sanchez, allegedly kicked her in the stomach during an argument.

The victim obtained a warrant on Sanchez for assault on a female.

Law enforcement returned to the residence and arrested Sanchez.

He was jailed without the opportunity for bond and has a January 27 court date.

Sergeant Jimmy Pair and deputies Marcel Goffington and Patrick Jacobs assisted Taylor in this investigation.

The victim is recovering from her injuries.
