According to Major Scott Hall, deputies Willie Murphy and Dreher Bozard received information that a suspicious vehicle was seen at a residence in the Highway 48 area of Enfield and that its operator may have been stealing from the home.
The deputies responded and saw a white Ford truck leaving the residence. The deputies confirmed items were stolen from the home and found them in the back of the truck. The contents of the truck included a hot water heater, front metal door and four chairs. Hall said the motive behind the theft appeared to be an attempt to sell the items as scrap metal.
They charged the driver, Grayson Kent Best, 49, of Enfield, with breaking, entering and larceny, larceny after breaking and entering and possession of stolen goods.
Best received a $5,000 secured bond and has a September 18 court date.
Further investigation led Murphy to secure warrants for the arrest of Jarvis Boone, also from Enfield, on the same charges as Best. He has not been arrested at this time.
