Halifax County Sheriff’s Office narcotics agents seized slightly more than a quarter pound of marijuana from a Branch Avenue residence in the Lincoln Heights community.

A result of complaints received by Agent D.C. Dickens over the past month, narcotics agents with the assistance of the Hazardous Entry and Arrest Team, executed the search warrant shortly after 7:45 this morning.

The search warrant execution led to the arrest of 32-year-old Jamaull Keyon Green on charges of felony possession of marijuana, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, maintaining a dwelling to keep a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Lieutenant Anzell Harris said the raid also led to the discovery of seven bags of marijuana, weighing approximately 149 grams. Agents seized a marijuana pipe, rolling papers and a .38-caliber handgun.

Harris said a check on the gun revealed it has not been reported as stolen. A check to determine if Green is the owner of the gun will also be done.

The agents also served Green with a Durham County order for arrest for failing to appear in court on a drug charge, according to Harris.

Green was jailed on $11,000 bond and has an October 2 court date.
