A Weldon woman was cited with a safe movement violation in a wreck last week that has left a Roanoke Rapids man in serious condition.

Roanoke Rapids police Saturday cited Johnelle Moore, 21, with safe movement violation by failing to see by turning from a direct line.

That means, according to police, she allegedly turned into the path of an oncoming scooter operated by 30-year-old Bradley Denning.

The crash occurred last Monday night at the intersection of Park Avenue and Tenth Street.

The latest update on Denning’s condition comes from a Facebook page set up to notify followers of his progress.

Currently, according to the update, Denning is wearing a protective helmet and is extremely active with his left side, but there is still no movement or activity from his right arms and legs.

Doctors have allowed him to sit up and he was taken off the ventilator Monday for an hour and could breathe on his own.

Moore has a September 6 court date.
