Winborne, left surrendered. Rogers remains at large.

One of the suspects still at large in the Community Marathon shooting last week surrendered Friday. The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office continues to look for another suspect.

Marcus Winborne turned himself into the sheriff’s office late Friday night and becomes the fourth person arrested in the shooting.

Major Bruce Temple said Winborne made no comment.

His surrender came from pressure put on him by law enforcement, which inquired of his whereabouts at several different places.

The sheriff’s office charged him with attempted murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery in the shooting of 29-year-old Kevin Ingram last Saturday night in the parking of the Community Marathon on Highway 158 near Zoo Road.

Winborne, who was jailed in lieu of $100,500 bond, was also charged with possession of marijuana.

Temple said the sheriff’s office continues to look for Quayshawn “Shawn” Rogers, 21, of Roanoke Rapids.

Temple said it is not clear where Rogers likes to frequent other than Roanoke Rapids. “He can run but he can’t hide.”

Temple said Ingram remains in critical condition.

Rogers is considered armed and dangerous and law enforcement should be contacted if he is seen by calling 252-583-1991. The public is also encouraged to call Halifax County Crimestoppers at 252-583-4444.
