Sylvan Heights Bird Parks’ newest exhibit, The Landing Zone, will open to the public March 23 at 10 a.m.

This interactive exhibit is another part of Sylvan Heights’ efforts to provide the public with opportunities to connect with wildlife in an up-close and personal way.

A walk-through aviary, The Landing Zone provides a unique opportunity for visitors to interact with some of the 300 birds found within the exhibit.

For instance, a colorful parakeet will land on a visitors arm to feed from a hand-held seed stick.

Park visitors will enter into a large, open, free flight aviary. There they may purchase bird food to hand-feed the vibrant and exotic parrots, doves, pigeons, flamingos, mouse birds, pond herons, hornbills, Australian parakeets and starlings inside.

The lushly planted exhibit will include a waterfall to create a tranquil environment for visitors while providing a stimulating habitat for the birds.
