The Roanoke Rapids High School football team was among the winners in the Gatorade Train With a Pro voting contest that will allow some of its members to train with an NFL player.
Coach Will Clark confirmed this morning the school was a winner but full details have not been worked out.
Clark said the two-hour training session deemed in the contest rules would be held some time in June. “It will be a good thing to kick in the summer workouts. We’re going to wait until June to give the NFL guys a chance to relax.”
The coach said he believed it would also be a good motivational tool for the players.
The contest was held under a vote per day rules from July to September.
The NFL player will come from a team the school was assigned and will most likely be a player from the Panthers.
Another prize in the contest is $650 worth of Gatorade training supplies that include a cooler and other products. Total value of the prize is $21,450.
