Another person wanted in the ongoing Operation Summer Heat Wave campaign was arrested this afternoon after he was stopped on his scooter for an equipment violation.

Agent J. Puhak of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office said Deputy J. Langley stopped the operator on West 1Oth Street in Roanoke Rapids for a malfunctioning taillight.

Langley observed that Bryant Antonio Harrison, 25, of the Brandy Creek community, was wanted on existing warrants from Heat Wave, a continuing effort to apprehend drug dealers within the county.

Puhak took out the warrants, which allege Harrison was involved in the possession, sale and delivery of crack cocaine within 1,000 feet of Weldon High School.

He faces charges of possession of schedule II, sell schedule II, deliver schedule II and sell and deliver schedule II near a school.

He was jailed on $25,000 bond and has a June 5 court date.
