Investigation of an ongoing case led to the arrest of a Roanoke Rapids man on firearms charges.
Detective O.L. Wiltsie of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office said Jermaine Jones, 28, was charged with two counts of possession of a firearm by a felon.
Wiltsie said without elaboration the original crime continues to be investigated.
Jones was jailed on $20,000 bond and has a January 30 court date.
