Jimmie Lee Mason II is in custody in the Halifax County Jail without the opportunity for bond.
Jail personnel confirmed he turned himself in today.
The sheriff’s office itself declined to immediately comment on his surrender.
Mason had been on the lam for more than a year following the September 4, 2011 murders of Thomas “Tom Cat” Davis and his girlfriend Jenlee Foster.
The sheriff’s office is expected to announce details Monday.
