A compromise has been reached in a midget football controversy that left 52 Roanoke Rapids midget Yellow Jacket players out of a league-wide jamboree Saturday.
According to David Cieslinski, coaches of the Halifax-Northampton Midget League voted to have a 43-player player roster.
If a team has more than 43 players they will be put on a “B” roster and after an official game opposing “B” roster players will play a 10-minute game with coaches on the field. The coaches will coach the “B” roster players and no score will be kept.
All the coaches want to move forward and put Saturday’s controversy behind them, Cieslinski said in an email message to rrspin.com.
