The city of Roanoke Rapids has been advised that a Disaster Recovery Center for victims of the flooding that occurred on August 25 will be opening in Roanoke Rapids at the Jo Story Senior Center located at 701 Jackson Street.

The Disaster Recovery Center will be opened this Friday, September 7 from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m.; Saturday, September 8 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. and next week Monday, September 10 through Thursday, September 13 from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m.

Anyone that experienced damage from this flooding event is encouraged to go to the Disaster Recovery Center in order to determine what type of assistance is available.

Suggested documents to bring include drivers license, Social Security card, insurance paperwork and documentation, photos of damage, address of damage and current address.
