Two men who allegedly stole and disassembled an air conditioning unit have been charged, according to the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office.
On March 22 Detective R. Somogyi said himself and Deputy C. Boden responded to a larceny call.
Boden located the items, which were dragged off into the woods behind the residence.

Vincent, left, and Torain.
Somogyi investigated the incident and learned that the contents of the unit were sold at a salvage scrap yard. Further investigation by Somogyi resulted in identifying Thomas Torain, 22, and Creshawn Vincent, 26, both of Littleton, as suspects.
Vincent was arrested today and on May 3 Somogyi saw Torain walking in Littleton. Torain fled on foot but Somogyi and Sergeant P. Ward caught him as he ran through a residential area with assistance from citizens who lived in the area.
Torain was taken into custody without further incident and received a $2,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on June 27.
Vincent was jailed on $6,000 and also has a June 27 court date.
Both men are charged with felony larceny and possession of stolen goods.
Approximately $5,000 in damage was done to the unit.
