Two Scotland Neck men have been charged in the theft of antique farm equipment to sell for scrap.
Detective R. Somogyi of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office said a complaint was received Monday that two hit or miss motors, an antique corn shucker and several house-moving jacks were stolen from a farm in the Scotland Neck area.

Riddick, left, and Knox.
Somogyi learned the items were taken to a scrap yard in Edgecombe County. The detective identified the suspects as Aaron Riddick, 18, and Dustin Allen Knox, 19.
Further investigation revealed the two allegedly sold attachments for a John Deere tractor as scrap. A front-end loader was returned to the victim.
The men were charged with two counts of felony larceny and two counts of possession of stolen goods.
They were jailed on $5,000 bonds and have April 4 court dates.
