The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office today lodged more charges against 22-year-old Jacob Matthew Davis after he was charged in a series of break-ins two weeks ago.
Detective J. Sealey charged Davis of Roanoke Rapids, who is still on jail on the previous charges, with breaking and entering, larceny of a firearm, possession of a stolen firearm, obtaining property by false pretenses and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
The weapon was allegedly stolen from a residence in the Roanoke Rapids area in December and Davis allegedly sold it to a business in Northampton County, Sealey said.
The property is in the process of being returned. The latest charges add $15,000 more to the $80,000 bond he was given for the charges two weeks ago. He has a March 21 court date.
