The Roanoke Rapids Police Department is currently investigating an armed robbery which occurred within the last half hour at the Shell station on Highway 48 and the Jackson Street extension.
Details are sketchy at this point but Captain Andy Jackson said a detective has been sent to the convenience store to investigate.
