Northampton County Sheriff’s Office Deputy William James, a school resource officer at Gaston elementary and middle schools, was awarded the advanced deputy law enforcement certificate.
He received the certificate June 14 from the state Sheriff’s Education and Training Standards Commission.
The honor reflects a culmination of law enforcement experience and achievements in education and professional law enforcement training.
“I’m extremely proud of Deputy William James on this great achievement and award he has received,” Sheriff Jack Smith said in a statement. “The advanced law enforcement certificate is a great honor for every officer to achieve.”
