Roanoke Rapids police are investigating a break-in at 1014 Rapids Street and an attempted break-in at 1010 Rapids Street.
The homeowner at 1014 Rapids Street was the victim of a break-in in July, according to Captain Andy Jackson.
Entry was gained by prying a window open and there was an attempt made to pry open a second window.
The crime occurred sometime between Tuesday and Wednesday. Taken was a laptop, an HP mini laptop, a Samsung projection TV, a Samsung DVD player, movies, a PlayStation 2, PlayStation 2 games and a gold chain.
