The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information on a shooting that occurred Monday in the 1000 block of Washington Avenue in Weldon.

Detective Doug Pilgreen said the victim told investigators he was walking. Five or six people were behind him when numerous shots were fired. He was struck in the hand.

The victim was treated at Halifax Regional Medical Center and then taken to another hospital.
