One of the men wanted in a Washington, D.C., murder and once believed to be in Halifax County, has turned himself in.
Lieutenant Bobby Martin of the sheriff’s office said authorities told him today Meeko Sha Carraway turned himself in and is being held on murder charges.

No information was immediately available on Chamonte Walker, the man with ties to the area, who was reportedly with Carraway, Martin said.
“The authorities in Washington advised they felt the pressure kept on Carraway had a lot to do with him turning himself in and praised the Halifax County Sheriff's Office and its officers that aided in the search,” Martin said.
The sheriff’s office learned from United States Marshals Monday the men were no longer believed to be in the county.
Both men were considered armed and dangerous.
Carraway was wanted in the homicide and Walker is wanted for questioning, said Martin.
Walker stands 6 feet tall and weighs 155 pounds.
