The Roanoke Rapids Police Department will accept your drugs Saturday — no questions asked.

Narcotics Agent Tommy Hathaway said the National Pill Turn In Day at Wal-Mart is a way people can turn in expired and unwanted medicine to prevent them from being stolen or getting into the hands of children.

The police department will even accept illicit drugs, Hathaway said.

The agent said prescription drug abuse is not only a problem in the area, but the country as well.

The police department, along with an agent from the Drug Enforcement Administration, will be at Wal-Mart from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m
