The Halifax County sheriff's Office has been made aware of yet another scam. The scam deals with online sweepstakes, Lieutenant Bobby Martin said.

The individuals will advise you that they are associated with Homeland Security and want to assure you that they want to safely deliver you your winnings.

They will tell you that they need you to to send a registration fee to secure your prizes arrival.

Detective Tyree Davis and Lieutenant Scott Hall made a call to Homeland Security and they assured the officers that they do no participate in any type of lottery or sweepstakes.

If anyone has received any kind of email or phone call about this do not send any personal information or money. “They use Homeland Security and the FBI to make you feel more secure in sending funds or letting them have your personal information. We ask that you be very cautious.”
