Deputy Ariel Burgess of the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office was awarded a certificate of achievement for exceptional academic performance.

The certificate honored Burgess for her academic performance during her fall semester at Halifax Community College and her placement on the dean’s list.

Burgess is currently working on earning an associate's degree in criminal justice.

“Deputy Burgess exhibits her eagerness to advance herself and her criminal justice career,” Sheriff Jack Smith said. “We are very proud of all of her dedicated hard work, and achievements.”
