A Hollister man was charged Monday in a January breaking and entering that caused damage to a building and resulted in the theft of $544, according to the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office.

Lee Quan Richardson, 28, remains in the Halifax County Detention Center as of this morning. He faces charges of breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering, injury to personal property, and injury to real property.

Major Anzell Harris said that in January, deputies responded to an alarm call at a convenience store in the area of Highway 561 and Main Street in Hollister.

Deputy C. Estes and Sergeant C. Sherrod observed damage to the front of the building and broken cash registers on the floor.

Detective Sergeant I. Miller reviewed video footage and identified Richardson.

On Monday morning, Corporal G. Caine arrested and served the outstanding warrants on Richardson. He has an April 22 district court date.

The warrant says the convenience store was connected to another building used as a "trust hub."

The two cash registers were valued at $670 each, and the damage to the door was estimated at $500.
