The North Carolina Department of Adult Correction is hosting a hiring event for correctional officer candidates at Roanoke River Correctional Institution in Tillery Wednesday.  

The time is from 9 a.m. to  3 p.m. The facility is located at 2787 Caledonia Drive in Tillery.

Full and part-time positions are available.   

A $3,000 sign-on bonus is available for eligible candidates hired into full-time correctional officer positions.

Candidates can apply online or in-person and come prepared for an interview.

The minimum requirements to be a correctional officer are:

Must be 18 or older.

Must be a US citizen or lawful permanent resident for three or more years.

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver’s license.
