A gunshot victim is in fair condition today and the Roanoke Rapids Police Department continues to investigate the Sunday evening shooting.

Lieutenant Morgan Worrell said officers responded to Collins Avenue around 9 p.m. after receiving a shots fired call in the area.

After the initial call, officers received information that a person had arrived at ECU Health North with multiple gunshot wounds.

Police are not immediately releasing the victim’s name and the motive is under investigation.
