To ensure that all students have the necessary tools to succeed in their education journeys, the Center for Energy Education will partner with Women on the Move to host a back to school event next Saturday.
On August 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., or while supplies last, C4EE welcomes families with school-age children in the Roanoke Valley to receive a backpack filled with basic school supplies in its parking lot at 460 Airport Road in Roanoke Rapids. The event is free and open to the public.
This event aims to support families and children, particularly those with limited resources, by providing essential tools for the upcoming school year.

Women on the Move, founded by retired school administrative assistant and community advocate Brenda Few, strives to assist and uplift the Roanoke Valley through encouraging volunteerism, creating fundraisers and establishing scholarships. The organization demonstrates dedication to education and encourages positive social change, helping our community thrive.
“Education is a gateway to the future,” said Mozine Lowe, executive director of C4EE. “Though this powerful backpack collaboration, not only are we easing the financial burden of families and children but we’re also bolstering creative and scholastic opportunities at every age.”
