Halifax EMC in partnership with CoBank, has made a contribution to enhance recreational opportunities in the Littleton area.

Together, the organizations provided matching donations to C.A.R.E./The John 3:16 Center in support of the construction of new community pickleball and tennis courts.

Today Halifax EMC presented a $5,000 check to The John 3:16 Center.

Grading is already underway on the designated site, which will feature a total of four pickleball courts and one dedicated tennis court.

While the new courts will be located on the grounds of The John 3:16 Center, they will be open to the public from dawn until dusk, providing a new outlet for recreation, health, and community engagement.

“Our goal is to bring fitness and fun to families in the community,” said Shannon McAllister, executive director at The John 3:16 Center. “We’re also excited to create a space that enhances the recreational education we offer to children in our programs.”

“The co-op is proud to support a project that focuses on the well-being of local residents and creates accessible spaces that bring people together through physical activity and play,” said Tucker Lemley, CEO of Halifax EMC.

CoBank, a national cooperative bank headquartered in Colorado, matched Halifax EMC’s contribution through its Sharing Success program, which supports charitable efforts in rural communities by doubling its members’ donations.
