The North Carolina State Highway Patrol continues to seek leads in a fatal hit and run which occurred in December.
First Sergeant Levern Bynum said he is currently waiting on a vehicle parts identification which was taken from the number on part of a mirror found at the scene located on Highway 46 near Jasper Jones in Northampton County.
All other leads in the case have been exhausted, he said.
At the time Bynum said the patrol received a report around 3:15 p.m. Friday, December 13 that a man later identified as Terrence Wayne Blount, 59, was found in a ditch.
Investigation by Trooper L.M. Merritt showed the vehicle was most likely traveling east on Highway 46. It’s not clear what direction Blount was walking in but the investigating trooper confirmed he was struck and his body came to rest in a ditch.
