The Weldon Police Department reported the following, according to Chief Christopher Davis:

May 10

On May 10 around 11:30 p.m., sergeants  I. Smith and H. Cross responded to a trespassing and disturbance call at a restaurant on Sycamore Street.

A man identified as Jesse Barnes Jr., 35, of Seaboard, was asked repeatedly to leave the property. He became hostile towards Smith and was arrested and taken to the Halifax County magistrates office. 

He was charged with trespassing, disorderly conduct and resisting a public officer. 

He has a July 16 district court date.

May 8

On May 8 around 7:15 p.m. Smith responded to a call about a person making harassing phone calls. 

Smith talked to Sagret Kimble at his residence located on East Second Street. 

Kimble became irate and started to yell and curse. 

Smith left the property and was at a store nearby when Kimble came into that property yelling and cursing. Smith warned Kimble, but he didn't comply. 

Kimble was arrested for disorderly conduct and taken to the Halifax County magistrate's office. He was charged with disorderly conduct.

Kimble was released from custody on May 9, according to eCourts records after promising a $75 premium on a $500 secured bond.

He has a July 16 district court date.
