State Representative Rodney Pierce on Wednesday introduced a bill seeking funding for millions of dollars in funding for public works and public safety projects across House District 27.

He said other legislators introduced similar bills for their districts. “This will be a guide for when budget negotiations begin.”

In a statement on public works projects bill H530 the freshman lawmaker said, “Clearly our community has significant needs, namely around infrastructure, that municipalities do not have the capital to support. I am hopeful that we can secure funding for many of these projects because they are sorely needed investments for our region.”

Pierce said, “Every county needs investments like these to ensure our residents are getting the public services they need and to entice industry for economic development. I am especially proud to offer these projects that improve the abilities of our local first responders to meet the needs of our citizens. Our tax dollars should be put to work improving the quality of life in the places we call home.”
