The Small Business Center Network is celebrating National Small Business Week May 3-9, 2026, honoring the entrepreneurs and small business owners across the state.

“Small businesses are the foundation of our local economies,” Halifax Community College said. “National Small Business Week is a time to recognize their contributions, celebrate their success, and reaffirm our commitment to helping them start, grow, and thrive.”

The Halifax Community College Small Business Center will close 2026 National Small Business Week outdoors, partnering with Gratitude Farm and Retreat in Enfield to offer a Farm, Forest, and Art Festival celebrating agriculture, experience economy, and professional arts entrepreneurs.

Anpeytu and Rick Neier, owners of Gratitude Farm and Retreat, will share their entrepreneurial journey in developing experiences to offer guests of Halifax County.

This celebration will be held on Friday, May 8 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Gratitude Farm and Retreat located at 3183 Fishing Creek Road, Enfield.

This event is free and open to the public.

Anyone interested in learning more about how they might start an outdoor business or the experience economy, is welcome to attend.
