Roanoke Cooperative President and CEO Marshall Cherry will be the commencement speaker for the Halifax Community College 2025 graduation ceremony. 

The ceremony is scheduled to take place on May 9  at 1 p.m. at the Dr. Ervin V. Griffin Centre.

Cherry has served Roanoke Cooperative for more than 30 years and has been the organization's president and CEO since December 2021. 

Prior to becoming the president and CEO, Cherry served as the COO in 2014.  

Throughout his tenure at Roanoke Cooperative, Marshall has gained broad experience in customer relations management, communications/public relations, information technology, organizational development, non-profit management, and economic development.

"We are proud to welcome Mr. Cherry as our commencement speaker for this year's graduation ceremony," said HCC President Patrena Benton Elliott. "We are sure that he will share a timely and beneficial message to our graduates.”
