The RRHS Varsity Baseball team lost a heart breaker to Bunn on Tuesday night by a score of 5-3 in extra innings.
Before the game, the four seniors (Aaron Jackson, Peyton Jackson, Caleb Johnson, and Cameron Salmon) were honored for the hard work, leadership, and success as part of the RRHS Baseball program.
Coach Mark Snead stated, " I can't say enough about these four guys and what they have meant to our program. We lost a big senior class last year, but these guys stepped into the leadership role and showed this team how to do things the right way. They have led this young team to a successful season. They have excelled on the field for four years, but I am most proud of the young men they have grown into. I am proud to be there coach."
Jake Van Dam, Ethan Vincent, and Cameron Salmon pitched on the night. Ethan Vincent took the loss in relief.
Leading Hitters for the Yellow Jackets were Cameron Salmon with 3 hits and Colin Long, Carson Neal, Peyton Jackson, and Caleb Johnson with 1 hit each.
Coach Mark Snead stated, "This was a good high school baseball game. Both teams played well tonight. Unfortunately we came up on the wrong end tonight. We have to have a short memory and be ready to play them again on Thursday."
With the loss RRHS drops to 13-8 on the season and 11-4 in the conference.
The last regular season game of the season for the Yellow Jackets will be Thursday night at Bunn. Game time is 6pm.
