The Halifax Academy Lady Vikings hosted Northeast Academy Friday afternoon for the Vikings season home opener.
The Vikings beat the Eagles in five innings 13-3.
Sydney Smith started on the mound for the Vikings pitching two innings with five strike-outs, Candice Smith picked up the next two innings on the mound with six strike-outs. Ashton Garner closed the game from the mound for the Vikings pitching one inning with one strike-out.
At the plate for the Lady Vikings, Candice Smith led with three singles, Drew Rose followed with a single and a double. Morgan Hudomint had two singles, Ashton Garner had a double while Emerson Poole, Ashlyn Liles, Karen Alston, Ella Howell and Margaret Hudson each had a single.
