The Roanoke Valley Girls Softball League U8 All-stars win in round 1 of the 2016 Little Tarheel State tourney in Jefferson NC 10 - 9 against the Cashie team.

At the plate for the Roanoke Valley team: Madison Jones (Hollywood) had a single, Kyla Odom (Lightning) had two singles, Maecy Garris (LA) had two singles, Sara Vann (Sassy) had a single, Shae Johnson (Two-Step) two singles, Maddie Patrick (Mad-Dog) had triple, Emily Clay (Fireball) had a homerun, Meagan Davis (Tornado) had a single, Sharid Byrum (Twinkle-toes) had a single and double, Kenlyn Crowder (Thunder) had double and a homerun and Peyton Kelly (NY) had a single.

The Roanoke Valley U8 girls return to play at 11 am Friday morning against Watauga County.
