Skylar Ferguson and Brittany Wade from Emporia based TopHand Storm 18U travel softball team commit to play college softball.
Skylar Ferguson is a 2016 graduate from Greensville County High School. She has played with TopHand Storm and formerly Southampton Storm for 3 years. Skylar has signed with the Garrett College Lakers as a duel sport athlete; she will participate in both Softball and Volleyball. Garrett College is a 2 year junior college located in McHenry, MD.
Brittany Wade is a 2016 graduate from Windsor High School. She has played with TopHand Storm and formerly Southampton Storm for 6 years. Brittany has signed to play softball for Davis & Elkins College. Davis & Elkins College is a Division II college located in Elkins, WV.
Ferguson and Wade join the growing list of Storm alumni playing college softball. The organization has been used as showcase to send players to Bridgewater College, Chowan University, Davis & Elkins College, Ferrum College, Richard Bland College of William & Mary, Sweetbriar College and Virginia State University.
TopHand Storm is currently holding tryouts for the 2016-2017 season. The remaining tryout dates are Thursday, July 28, 2016 and Thursday, August 18, 2016 at EGRA Meherrin Park. Registration begins at 5:30pm and tryouts start promptly at 6:00pm on both dates. EGRA Park is located at 1001 Meherrin Park Road, Emporia, VA.
