Southeast Halifax Lady Trojans beat Weldon Chargers 41-36 for first place in the 1A Tar-Roanoke Conference.

Leading scorers for Southeast were: Tanera Shields with 12 points, Niasia Anthony with 10 points, Jacardi Tillery with 8 points, S. Alston with 8 points, and Jessica Gregory with 3 points.

 

Weldon leading scorers were: Karisma Harrison with 18 points, Lanesha Northington with 10 points, Jalayia Jones with 4 points, Jacole Whitaker with 2 points,  Kendreall Copeland with 2 points,.

 

 

Weldon's Varsity Boy's basketball team defeated Tar Roanoke conference rivals Southeast Halifax High School Friday night with a final score of 55-48. 

Southeast gained an early lead, and by the end of the first half, Southeast was leading with a five point lead.  However, with a strong third quarter performance, and outscoring in the fourth, Weldon was able to maintain undefeated in their conference.

Weldon's top scoreres were Jamall McGee with 25 points, Melquan Ames with 12, and Koraan Clements with 11.  

Weldon maintains an 11 game winning streak and will host also conference play undefeated Louisburg at home on Wednesday night.
