The Roanoke Rapids Yellow Jackets hosted fellow conference South Granville Vikings Tuesday night.
The JV Jackets remained undefeated by beating the JV Vikings 84 - 51.
Leading scorers for Roanoke Rapids were: Quincy Vann with 18 points, Zack Vincent with 14 points, KJ Falcon with 8 points, Deraj Watson with 8 points, TJ Scott with 8 points, Paul Whitby with 6 points, Givonte Harell with 6 points, Thomas Merritt with 4 points, Peyton Clapton with 4 points, Jack Neville with 3 points, Damoni Mitchell with 3 points, Jordan Danield with 2 points.
The Lady Jackets lost their first conference game of the season 38-45. Roanoke Rapids is now 3-1 in conference play.
Leading scorers for Roanoke Rapids were: Anna Vann with 14 points, Alizae Neville with 10 points, Haley Farrow with 5 points, Michelle Stewart with 3 points, Abbi carpenter with 2 points, Taylor Medlin with 2 points, Brooke McClenny with 2 points.
The Varsity Jackets improved to 3-1 in conference play and tied for second place.
Leading scorers Roanoke Rapids were: Tyjarek Simmons with 19 points, Tyraybiya Kearney with 18 points and Dre Terry with 10 points.
Roanoke Rapids Head coach Tyler Snyder post game comments, "What a game. South Granville's Ferguson is a very good, tough player and I told the guys that we didn't have to stop him, we needed to control him. Our defensive aggression caused turnovers that we capitalized on. I kept telling them to relax and just play and the second half showed that."
