Roanoke Rapids based Valley Cheer competed in their first competition of the year Sunday in Raleigh NC with Cheer Ltd.

The Junior 2 team performed a great routine to start off the day. "We have some work to do but are excited to get back to practice this week," stated coach Jennifer Fowler.

The Senior 3 team completed their first competition of the season with a 1st runner award. Coach Meggan Coggins stated, "I knew this team had talent and can't wait to see what's coming up this season.

Valley Cheer senior Makayla Jean had an injury during her teams performance but persevered and finished the routine. Coach Jessica White stated, "this is what hard work and dedication produces, a successful team."

"Overall Valley Cheer had a successful day, we are so proud of our Valley girls" stated gym owner Heather Merritt.

Their next competition will be In January in Richmond VA.
