Baseball and softball players dream of a game like this past weekend 
for Roanoke Rapids
resident Lee Powers. Powers a professional men's
slow-pitch softball player, spent this past weekend in Maryville Tennessee
in the USSSA 46
th annual Smoky Mountain Classic, playing for the Winter
Haven Florida “Resmondo-Specialty Tank Worth” team.

Team Resmondo made it to the Championship game and down by two runs,
the bases are loaded and bottom of the 7
th and Powers is up to bat and the
count is two and two. Powers swings on the next pitch and hits a grand-slam
home-run to win the Championship game.Powers finished the tournament with
17 home-runs and 30 RBI's in seven games.
