Cal Ripken Area tournament over, now on to State tournament.

The Roanoke Rapids Youth Baseball Association U9 All-stars competed in the Cal Ripken Area 3 tournament in South Pitt last weekend and finished with a 1-2 record.

Game one was a loss to Kinson 13-3, then a hard fought win against a tough Winterville team and finally a tough 14-12 loss against the eventual District Champion Washington. 

Roanoke Rapids pitchers Drew Williams, Colin Clements, Jake Merritt and Davis Liverman pitched well but eventually would be out done by walks and errors. 

Offensively, the Jackets were lead by Colin Clements, Davis Liverman, Drew Williams, Matthew MacNichol, Hunter Hardy and Brayden Mills.  Nice plays were made in the field by Austin Geary, Cole Eure and Landon Smith as well. 

The squad will look to regroup at the state tournament next weekend in Snow Hill, NC.
