Scholarship honors coach and student at same time.

Long time retired Roanoke Rapids High school Teacher and coach Carllen Goodwin return to RRHS for a good reason this week. She came to present one student an award in her name.

Roanoke Rapids High Senior Dee Dee Jones received the honors for the 1st Coach Carleen Goodwin scholarship. "I have got to say that I am so proud to be the first recipient to receive the Carleen Goodwin Scholarship! Playing sports for Ms.Goodwin has really changed the way I see things today and I'm so glad I got to spend my first three years at the high school with her and I loveeee her tons. I am so blessed that I got to meet this awesome, wonderful, and crazy lady and I don't know what I would do without her in my life," Dee Dee Jones stated.
