Halifax Academy varsity softball hosted Pungo Christian Academy Tuesday in the 1st round of the 1 A NCISAA state play-offs.
The game was scoreless through the first inning. Halifax got on the board first in the second inning scoring two runs. Halifax added one run in the third and allowed Pungo to score it's only run in the fourth inning.

In the fifth inning, Halifax added three more runs to the scoreboard. This would be the final after 6 1/2 innings of play. Halifax won 6-1 and advance to next round against winner of #3 Lawrence Academy / #6 Ridgecroft School Friday at Oakwood School in Greenville.

At the plate for Halifax Academy: Drew Rose and Lindsey Pulley each had a triple and a single, Ryanne Hilliard had 2 singles, Hayley Wood had a double while Candice Smith, Hannah Clary and Mer Stephenson each had a single.

Even thought the team won and advance in the 1A NCISAA State play-off, this was the last home game for the season for the 8 seniors.
