Travel Baseball tournaments have to be played somewhere, why not Roanoke Rapids.
Not just one organization was responsible, but many including the Halifax County Tourism, Roanoke Rapids Youth Baseball Association, Fishers U9 and Roanoke Rapids U11 travel teams and Roanoke Rapids Parks and Recreation helped bring EC Nations baseball travel baseball tournaments to town hosting it's first tournament in town this past weekend.

Two age groups (U9 and U12) were scheduled to play Saturday at Ledgerwood complex, but with three Emporia VA teams pulling out Friday night, only the U12 division were able to play. Their was one U12 team and two U11 teams that played in this tournament named "Turn 2 Classic."
Roanoke Rapids U11 team lost it's first game 13-3 to Old Dominion Scrappers U11 and lost 12-1 to Tar River Cats U12. EC Nations Baseball plans to Host another tournament May 24-25 "Battle on the Border" for U8 through U12 teams.
