A dominant midweek outing that saw him register career bests in a pair of categories has earned junior southpaw Jordan DeLoatch Peach Belt Conference Pitcher of the Week honors, the league office announced Tuesday.

DeLoatch, a former Roanoke Rapids little league player the Greenville native and D.H. Conley High School product, struck out a career-best 10 batters and allowed just two hits and no walks in a complete game shutout of Pfeiffer on Wednesday. The lefty allowed a single in both the fourth and fifth innings, but very little else. The Falcons hit just .069 against him in the outing as he threw 117 pitches and retired the sides in order in six different innings.

He began the game by sitting down 10-straight Falcons before allowing a single in the fourth, and then closed out the midweek tilt by retiring the last 14 batters he faced. It was the first complete game shutout of DeLoatch's career as he was a part of two combined shutout performances as a freshman in 2011-12.

DeLoatch boasts a 5-0 record and a 3.38 earned run average this season with 34 strikeouts in 37-1/3 innings of work. He currently ranks seventh in the PBC in wins and 11th in the league in ERA and strikeouts per game (8.20). A three-year starter for the Black & Gold, he is 14-5 with a 4.82 ERA in 33 career appearances (30 starts) for the Black & Gold.
